'Stained Glass' Window Decoration craft for toddlers

I started volunteering for my child's school recently. They had a birthday party and a 10 minute craft time during the party, so I was asked to help with that. I 'donate' my own supplies so I don't have a 100 dollars to spend on this craft for 20 kids, so I looked for ways to make simple crafts on budget. The children are 4-5 years old, and I have 10 minutes, so I did a lot of preparation to keep it very simple. But here's a step-by-step tutorial on the 'stained glass' craft inspired by the Mama Miss blog. I used paper plates and cut out my own shape, kept the ConTact paper as a simple circle to minimize the process.

What you'll need:
-Black paper plates
-Tissue paper of your choice
-ConTact paper (transparent)
-Ribbon or string

-Scissors or cutting tools
-Hole puncher
-Ruler or tape measure

1. Draw or cut out a shape from the paper plate. If you want it to be symmetrical, you can fold the paper in half and cut out the shape.

2. Measure the diameter of the plate and cut out a circle from ConTact paper to match.

3. Cut the tissue paper into little squares or triangles. I cut them into 1/2 inch squares, but it could be a bit bigger.

4. Put on the ConTact paper on the front side of the plate, so the sticky side is exposed on the back. Slowly peel off the sheet to avoid bubbling.

Here's a plate with ConTact paper on top.

5. Now turn the plate around so that the sticky side faces you. Take the confetti you made from tissue paper and place them on the sticky side. It could be random or patterned. If the colors overlap, that's okay too.

6. Using a hole puncher, make a hole on the top of the plate.

7. Put on a string or ribbon.

Hang it by the window and enjoy the pretty colors  :)

*I prepared up to step 4 before passing out the plates to the students to save time, since I had only 10 minutes. They wrote their names on the Christmas tree, and placed the tissue paper on the ConTact paper.
